Lateral Kindness is an Indigenous teaching that aims to address lateral violence, such as bullying, harassment, and other unkind behaviors. It means embracing tapahtêyimisowin (humility), sohkeyimowin (bravery), ka kwayaskwesihcikewnihk (honesty), iyinisowin (wisdom), tapwewin (truth), manâtcihiwewin (respect), and sâkihitowin (love).
 
The Lateral Kindness Campaign takes a stand against lateral violence and bullying within our community. By practicing lateral kindness, we can break the cycle of anger (lateral violence) caused by colonialism, trauma, racism, and discrimination. Lateral kindness creates a more supportive and caring environment for everyone.
 
As community leaders, we are committed to practices that champion Lateral Kindness, and in purchasing a t-shirt to support this cause, you too are supporting practices of Lateral Kindness rather than violence.
