Jenelle Adam, Auntie/Educator/Artist
Jenelle grew up in the northern part of Alberta, 2 hrs north of Grande Prairie. Her heritage is Iroquois, French and Irish to name a few. Her Metis family settled near Lac St. Anne before moving to north of Manning to the hamlet of Notikewan. Jenelle a barber for 20 yrs, began immersing herself in her Metis culture. She began making ribbon skirts in 2021, this peaked her interest in Metis beadwork.
Sparking the creation of Metis Art Supply, in present times Jenelle is an artist, indigenous art supplier and educator. Her passion of teaching began in her barber career where she taught aspiring barbers and apprentices the craft of barbering. Now she spreads her Metis culture through the art and practice of Metis style beadwork.
